Clear answers before someone joins.
Life Dojo is an early Alberta pilot. These answers help students, senseis, partners, and advisors understand the boundaries.
Who is Life Dojo for?
The first focus is skilled newcomers, international students, new graduates, and early-career professionals who need local career guidance and trusted mentorship.
What is a sensei?
A sensei is a reviewed mentor: a local professional, experienced newcomer, retired expert, recent EIT/professional, or community volunteer who can share practical career guidance.
Does Life Dojo guarantee jobs?
No. Life Dojo supports mentorship, preparation, confidence, referrals, and career-readiness actions. It does not guarantee employment, interviews, immigration outcomes, or licensing outcomes.
Is this immigration, legal, licensing, or financial advice?
No. Mentors can share lived experience and career guidance, but users should speak to licensed professionals for legal, immigration, licensing, financial, medical, or regulated advice.
Are mentors verified?
Senseis apply, acknowledge boundaries, and can be reviewed before appearing publicly. The pilot should keep mentor quality high instead of approving everyone quickly.
What is a cohort?
A cohort is a small group of students or newcomers who go through structured mentorship together for 4-6 weeks. Partners can use cohorts to support a specific program or field.
Is AI replacing human mentors?
No. AI is used to help students prepare questions, summarize reflections they choose to write, and organize next steps. The core value is human mentorship.
What should users not share?
Users should not share SIN numbers, passports, banking details, immigration documents, private employer files, or other sensitive personal documents in chat or AI tools.
